An orientation Program for the third batch of 45 short term interns, who were to be assigned to various committees of the Senate of Pakistan, was organized at PIPS from March 16-28, 2017. Honorable Chairman Senate inaugurated the program and highlighted the significance of youth’s participation in the political life of a Nation. Later sessions during the course oriented the interns about the role, functions and history of Senate; its working under the Constitution of Pakistan and rules of procedure; the working of Senate Secretariat; Assisting the honorable senators in the use of oversight tools and committee meetings; Office correspondence and Preparing parliamentary research and working papers. The course included interactive sessions with senior Secretariat leadership as well.
