Workshop on “Leadership Excellence and Strategic Challenges” For Honorable MPs of KP.

Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services organized three days’ workshop on “Leadership Excellence and Strategic Challenges” for Honorable Members of Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at PIPS main campus in Islamabad. Meant to equip the Honorable Members with the contemporary leadership skills in order for them to excel in their roles as political leaders, the Workshop was attended by 13 lawmakers from the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the Provincial Minster for Local Government, Honorable Shah Farman. The inaugural session began with the recitation of the verses from Holy Quran, followed by opening remarks by Executive Director PIPS, Mr. Zafarullah Khan. Director Training PIPS, Ms. Samer Awais, gave an overview of the workshop. The Executive Director PIPS acquainted the participants with the “International Best Practices of Developing Political Leadership.” Professor Dr. Hamid Rafique Khan Khattak, CEO Imperial Institute of Technology, spoke on “How do Leaders Resolve Conflicts and Build Consensus.” Day two began with a detailed session on “Managing Media Relations-Getting Ready for Media Interaction” led by Senior Journalist, Mr. Mazhar Abbas. Mr. Furqan Shamsi, Professional Trainer and Consultant, gave a captivating presentation on “The Challenges of Leadership – Managing Diversity and Meeting Expectations.” Former representative of Pakistan in the United Nations and currently the Director General of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Ambassador ® Masood Khan, led an interactive session on “Strategic Challenges faced by leaders in Pakistan – Political Impact” on Day Three. Lately, Mr. Asad Hayaud Din, Spokesperson for Ministry of Commerce – Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, and Mujeeb Ahmad Khan, Senior Trade and Investment Advisor Ministry of Commerce deliberated on the “Strategic Challenges faced by leaders in Pakistan – Impact on Commerce.” The Workshop ended with vote of thanks presented by Director Training PIPS, Ms. Samer Awais.
