PIPS Conducts Two-Day Orientation Workshop for Interns Under Short-Term Internship Program

Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services Research Wing organized a two-day orientation workshop for the incumbent interns under PIPS Short-term Internship Program 2016. The target audience of the orientation workshop included 17 interns enrolled in various Higher Educational Institutions of the twin cities in academic disciplines including law, political science, economics, and management sciences, government and public policy. The workshop began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and brief introduction of the participants, followed by an insightful presentation by Director Research & IT, Mr. Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, and Senior Research Officer, Ms. Tehseen Khalid, on the key topic of “Constitution, Parliament and State-Building.” Engaging the participants in practical exercise, Director Training, Ms. Samer Awais, led the session in “Team Building, Time and Task Management.” During the third session, Additional Director Finance, Mr. Haider Abbas, spoke on Office communication in the Parliament. Day two began with session on “Parliamentary Research and Reference citation” conducted by Research Officers Mr. Muhammad Rizwan Manzoor and Ms. Fakiha Mahmood. The role and significance of Parliamentary Committees was taken up by Deputy Director Legislation, Mr. Kahsif Mehmood Tariq. The day ended with a group photo with the Executive Director PIPS, Mr. Zafarullah Khan. The two-day workshop was steered by Mr. Muhammad Rizwan Manzoor, Research Officer.
