Orientation of the Newly Elected Honorable Women Members of the National Assembly of Pakistan.

September 5, 2018, Islamabad: 3-day orientation session of the newly elected Honorable Members of National Assembly of Pakistan commenced at Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services. The orientation session is being organized in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. The event aims at apprising the newly elected Members about parliamentary business; covering the parliamentary Decorum and Traditions, Constitution and Federalism, Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business and the overview of Legislative process.

To formally commence the proceedings of the 3-day orientation, the Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Mr. Asad Qaiser graced the inaugural session with his presence. While addressing the newly elected members of National Assembly, he emphasized on the importance of the session and how valuable it can be for the members in performing their parliamentary function & duties. Speaker National Assembly appreciated the initiative taken up by Pakistan institute for Parliamentary Services of conducting the 3-day orientation.

Honorable Member of National Assembly of Pakistan Syed Fakhar Imam addressed the newly elected members on Parliamentary Decorum and Traditions. He thoroughly shared his insight and underscored the best practices taken up by different parliaments around the globe. Executive Director PIPS Zafarullah Khan also addressed the Honorable Members on Constitution and Federalism and the role Parliamentarians can play for effective functioning of Parliament. The sessions were followed by detailed question and answer session in which facilitator and members engaged in a candid discourse on various topics.
