Seminar on Constitution, Parliament and State-Building.

Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services hosted a group of 31 undergraduate students and two faculty members from National Defence University (NDU) at a Seminar on Constitution, Parliament and State-Building. The event began with the National Anthem and the Recitation of the Holy Quran. Acting Executive Director PIPS, Mr. Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, welcomed the audience and gave a mesmerizing presentation titled “Parliament of Pakistan: A Symbol of Pluralistic Society and State-Building.” Concerning the significance of the Constitution, he underscored that after the Holy Quran, Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan constitutes the most sacred document for any Pakistani. Moreover, he illuminated the participants with the most fundamental concepts and principles relating to the Parliament of Pakistan. The presentation was followed by the keynote speech by the Guest of Honor, Honorable MNA/Media Coordinator Young Parliamentarians Forum, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam. In an interactive manner, the Honorable MNA highlighted the significant work ongoing in the parliament of Pakistan, particularly the subjects on which the YFP is actively working to carryout legislation. Dr. Musarrat Jabeen, Associate Professor/Director NDU, presented vote of thanks and extolled the efforts of PIPS leadership for the convening of such events. Honorable MNA presented souvenir and a set of PIPS publication to the faculty at the end of the seminar which was steered by Mr. Muhammad Rizwan Manzoor, Research Officer PIPS.
