Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services organized a two-day long orientation program for the second batch of Prime Minister Youth Training Scheme Interns from February 02-03, 2017. The Honourable Member National Assembly and Chairperson of Prime Minister Youth Training Scheme, Ms. Leila Khan addressed the participants about the objectives and importance of the Prime Minister Youth Internship Programme. The orientation sessions were designed keeping in view the challenges faced by young interns while working for the Parliament. During the program participants learned about the Constitution of Pakistan and working of the Parliament. The Honorable Members National Assembly, Mr. Asad Umar and Dr. Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal addressed the interns highlighting the challenges faced by parliamentarians in the performance of their roles and responsibilities and in managing constituency relations. Participants were acquainted about their job descriptions, development of daily and weekly plans to perform their tasks; importance of work ethics and the use of online portals developed for the monitoring of PMYTS.
