On the respected advice of the Honorable Chairman Senate/President BoG PIPS, Mian Raza Rabbani, Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services organized a day long Post Budget Seminar for Honorable Senators on Tuesday June 09, 2015. The proceedings began with recitation from the Holy Quran by Mr. zahid Ashraf. Mr. Mahmood Salim Mahmood, Executive Director PIPS, welcomed the Honorable Senators and presented the introductory remarks. Session one led by Mr. Kaiser Bengali, Advisor to the Chief Minister Government of Balochistan, focused on the Economy of Pakistan- historical perspectives: challenges & way forward. Session two and three discussed the salient features of the Budget 2015-16 with two different key-note speakers including renowned economist Mr. S. Akbar Zaidi and Dr. Furrukh Saleem, Political Scientist, Economic Theorist & Financial Analyst, respectively. It was followed by a highly interactive question and answer session in which 20 honorable Senators participated. Honourable Chairman Senate/ President PIPS Board of Governors Mian Raza Rabbani also graced the occasion along with Secretary Senate Mr. Amjad Pervez. The Seminar was a coordinated effort of PIPS organizing committee comprising Mr. Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, Director Research and IT, Ms. Samer Awais, Director Training and Legislation, Mr. Mir Shai Baloch, Additional Director (HR,)Mr. Waqas A Qureshi, SPCO, Mr. Waqar Ahmed, Deputy Director HR, Mr. Niaz Muhammad Deputy Director Admn. and Mr. Taj Muhammad PCO. IT wing provided IT support. Ms. Samer Awais Director Training was the moderator of the day and conducted Q and A session.
