Abstract

Benazir Bhutto was the first Muslim female Prime Minister of a Muslim country, but most of her political career she was in opposition, even in the tenure of Zia, Nawaz Sharif or Musharaf, to Pakistanis she had become a hope for batter future; she had become a symbol of freedom to the world. She would have thoughts that she would like Pakistan to emerge out of the darkness of illiteracy as she had judged our country on its merits and talent.
Being a leader of opposition she always opened those issues which were in favor of Pakistan’s public. She always discussed the issues of military involvement and nondemocratic alliance against the policies of democratic governments. She openly spoke the issues on federal budget, she highlighted the image of Pakistan in her lectures to foreign countries, she suggested government on foreign issues like Pak India relationships, Pak America relationships, and the relations of Pakistan with other countries. Being opposition leader she highlighted the corruption of government, threat to the public property of
Pakistan, effort on quest for the peace process with India, Kashmir issue, privatization of government properties, long march on election riggings, government negligence to control the border issues with India, amendments in constitution by Nawaz government, nondemocratic steps by President Ghulam Ishaq Khan. She has proved herself as true leader of opposition.
