Orientation Workshop of Pakistan parliamentary delegates including MNAs and representatives from four provincial assembly Secretariats, on Commonwealth Parliamentary Association South Asia Regional Conference, held on 3rd February, 2011: The Institute commenced a new service in 2011 by offering orientation to parliamentary delegates for international forums. The Regional Conference of CPA South Asia Region was held on 10-16 February, 2011 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. PIPS held an orientation session of Members of the National Assembly and representatives from provincial assemblies of Baluchistan, Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, who were delegates to the conference. PIPS Executive Director made a comprehensive presentation on CPA, its role, functions and interest of Parliament of Pakistan. It was followed by detailed thematic sessions by the PIPS Research and Analysis Team that briefed the parliamentary delegates with regard to following three plenaries of the Colombo Conference:

a. Climate Change and Natural Disasters.

b. Poverty Alleviation in Pakistan.

c. Mother and Neo Natal Health.

The event was markedly appreciated by the delegates, who expressed their satisfaction that such orientations would substantially help in objective and professional Pakistani input in international conferences
