PIPS in collaboration with PLSP organized the 2009 Orientation Session for newly elected Senators on April 18, 2009. The participants lauded PIPS’ efforts in conducting a meaningful orientation session, which helped them gain valuable insights into key parliamentary issues.

The meticulously developed modules by PLSP for PIPS provided briefings on Role and functions of the Senate Secretariat, Rules of Procedures, Business of the House, Question Hour, Parliamentary Committees, and Legislative Process.

During the much interactive session, senators participated in meaningful discussions and realized the essential nature of their role in parliamentary development. They also urged PIPS to organize detailed sessions related to the above topics on a regular basis.
