The Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) has commenced an eight-day Pre-Promotion Training Course for officials of the National Assembly Secretariat, being held from 8th to 17th September 2025 at PIPS, Islamabad.
The program began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a Program Overview presented by Mr. Taj Muhammad, Director (PDP). On behalf of the Executive Director PIPS and Director General (PDP&C), Mr. Taj Muhammad extended a warm welcome to the participants. A round of introductions was held, allowing participants to share their name, designation, and professional experience.
The objective of this training – aims to enhance the professional capacity of officials in office procedures, service laws, drafting, noting, parliamentary protocol, IT, and AI tools for effective Secretariat work.
The first session was conducted by Mr. Muhammad Farooq, Deputy Secretary, National Assembly Secretariat, who delivered an insightful lecture on the Rules of Procedure framed by the Federal Government under the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973, specifically highlighting Articles 90 & 99, Secretariat Instructions, and the job descriptions of Assistant, UDC, and LDC.
A total of 30 officials are participating in this training program, which aims to strengthen their professional skills in office procedures, record management, service laws, drafting, noting, parliamentary protocol, IT skills, and AI usage in office operations
The training will continue till 17th September 2025, concluding with a quiz session to assess participants’ learning.
