License has been granted under alternate energy generation laws until 3rd April 2020: NEPRA
Islamabad: National Electric Power Regulation Authority has granted license for photovoltaic solar based generating facility to Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services for next three years until April 3, 2020. According to officials, the license has been granted for generating 62.40KW of electricity under National Electric Power Regulations Authority (Alternative & Renewable Energy) Distributed Generation & Net Metering Regulations, 2015. Earlier, the Parliament of Pakistan has been the first one to ‘go green’. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan’s Parliament is the first in the country to have been issued a ‘Net-Metering” license by NEPRA. ‘Net-Metering’ mechanism helps in delivering and adding the surplus production of energy to the National Grid. This very project is environment friendly as it reduces the emission of hazardous gases which invite global warming. Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services is committed in conserving energy & reducing negative impacts to environment/climate following the footsteps of Parliament.
